PAPER

I recently purchased a lovely pack of handmade mulberry paper, from Northern Thailand. I actually found it on Amazon but they also have their own website at www.mulberrypaperstock.com. Having been lucky enough to have visited a few years ago in the company of a very kind and knowledgable local guide, I have a soft spot for the north of the country and I saw first hand how hard life can be for many people in that area. I was therefore pleased to find this product and was impressed by the effort which went into the presentation as well as the paper.

It’s been years since I bought origami paper but after opening some for The Butterfly House range, that I purchased from a Japanese store in New York, I remembered why I was so captivated by it. I am pretty bad at origami but love the paper. There are obviously be many suppliers out there (check out Amazon as a default option). However I went to my local stationer and art supplier for the next pack, as they had paper sourced from Japan and I could look at it before I decided. Pullingers (https://www.pullingers.com) has four shops in the South East. It offers a pleasingly traditional shopping experience with lots of quality options.
