Table Air Plant Decoration

Table Air Plant Decoration

£52.00

Part of The Butterfly House range: inspired by a fusion of the woodland, live butterfly houses and Japanese style.

This particular decoration would work beautifully as either the centrepiece of a table, or sitting on a shelf or mantle piece.

It is made from a singe piece of hazel wood, which has wonderful details and shaping, plus its original moss. To that I have added four air plants. These provide height, freshness and texture, as well as bringing in the live plant element of a butterfly house. Paper butterflies swarm happily across the piece, some feeding from orange, lime and apple slices, other preparing to flit away.

This piece is approximately 38cm long by 51cm high and 12cm wide, taking the largest measurements.

If you are having a special party or meal, this would make a striking centrepiece for your table. Add Butterfly House themed place decorations, ring candlesticks with moss and more butterflies.. In short take the idea as far as you want, to create a table with woodland charm, plus a touch of glamour.

The Butterfly House concept can be adapted for almost any occasion - a birthday, anniversary, engagement, wedding or pre-baby event.

CARING FOR AIR PLANTS: locate any piece which includes air plants out of direct sunlight and not too near any strong heat source (e.g a radiator or fire). Use a plant mister to spray your air plants at intervals. Rain water is better than tap water, especially if you live in a hard water area but use tap water if nothing else is available. Occasionally give your air plants more of a soaking and feed them lightly with a spray feed, such as that used for bonsai or orchids. Try not to get your butterflies too wet as they are made from paper, although they have been sprayed with a clear sealant to give them some protection. If you ever have an accident with any of your butterflies, check out The Butterfly House section on the Inspirations & Projects page to learn how to make a replacement, or send me an email.
