I offer an assortment of bark which has been collected from dead trees or foraged from the woodland floor. It is then allowed to dry naturally and can enhance many different projects.
Larger sheets of bark are actually one of the more challenging items to find in Dormouse Wood, as by the time it comes away from its dead tree it often splinters into small pieces.
The bark generally has a curve to as you would expect it, but some warps as it dries, creating exceptionally beautiful shapes.
These are medium sized rolls or sections of bark, not small pieces, or shards. If you want smaller pieces, for example to use in wreath decoration, please search for ‘bark’ and the other option should appear. If you need a particularly large piece of bark please email your requirements and we will let you know if anything is available.
I have used the bark as roofing for miniature woodland huts or fairy houses and in floral decorations and table centrepieces. It is also great as the base for air plants and in terrariums.
The photographs aim to give you an idea of the range of bark found in Dormouse Wood.
Because the bark varies considerably e.g. different tree species, sizes, shapes and patterns you will receive between three and six pieces per order. If pieces are smaller I will include more per pack.
