Bark Sheet

Bark Sheet
A large rectangular sheet of willow bark. It has a deeply incised craggy pattern with areas where you can see right through the piece. It is however fairly sturdy for old bark.
This piece of bark has many potential uses. For example it would make a stunning larger scale base for an air plant arrangement, especially if hung from the ceiling or a bracket, to display the outer side.
Approximate dimensions are 29cm wide by 26cm high.
This bark comes from an old willow tree which once grew next to the Dormouse Wood pond. It fell many years ago and has since been gradually decaying, returning its nutrients to the soil and providing valuable habit. It has now reached the stage where the bark is falling away - this piece was simply sitting next to the old trunk. I have collected around half a dozen pieces of good size, including this one which is the only one in a rectangular shape. It is unusual to find such large sections intact.
